After a few years finishing within stike of winning the event and being pipped right at the end in 2016, Nic Corlett won the 2017 End 2 End Mountain Bike Challenge, in what were probably some of the most challenging conditions the event has ever seen. Strong head winds, mist on high ground, showers and heavy rain made the going tough and muddy, which did aid the more technically skilled riders. From the start Nic controlled the pace of the event and although trying to break the following pack of riders on one climb, decided to take it a little easier due to the conditions, eventually outsprinting Wiggins Pro Road Rider Nathan Draper for he win, in a superb time of 3hrs 13 minutes and 56 seconds for the 75km route.

Nic commented "It was great to finally be able to win the End 2 End, it has always been a goal of mine to win this event, so it means a lot to finally pull it off. The End 2 End is were my passion for cycling and specifically mountain biking first started. The event is actually the same age as me, so I can remember watching it as a child and going round with my dad helping to back my uncle up. There is always a buzz around the whole weekend and I look forward to that every year. To now say that I have won the event that got me into mountain biking, is really something special"
