About Tower Insurance

Tower Insurance is a local business, with 25 local employees. We were founded in January 1928 by a group of local residents who wanted an insurer that had as its primary focus the interest of Manx residents. It remained a locally owned business until 1948, when it was acquired by Royal Insurance.

Although now part of the RSA Group, we remain a local company (Registered in Isle of Man No. 521) with all of our staff and the majority of our directors being Manx residents.

Tower Insurance is named after the Tower of Refuge in Douglas Bay, which forms part of our corporate identity. Our current office in Victoria Street, Douglas is open to our customers during normal business hours, and provides views across the Bay and of the Tower of Refuge.

Over the years, Tower Insurance has been a constant supporter of local organisations. Some of the highlights include:

• Raising the funds for a new bell at Peel Cathedral.
• Supporting the Global Challenge yacht race in 2001, as a sponsor of the yacht Isle of Man.
• Sponsorship of the Manx Grand Prix over a number of years.
• Raising many thousands of pounds for charities such as Isle of Man Children’s Centre, Age Concern IoM, Parkinson’s IoM, Hospice IoM, Women’s Aid and Manx Cancer Help.

Above all, we remain committed to serving the needs of private individuals and businesses on Isle of Man.
